Isle of Skye

We woke from a good night’s sleep in our tiny home airbnb and set off to spend a day exploring the Isle of Skye, venturing north from our base in Portree. This is probably gonna be mostly pictures, because there’s not much to say other than Scotland is beautiful!

Our first stop was the Bridal Veil Falls, only a few minutes drive from our airbnb.

After that, we passed the Old Man of Storr. It was cold and windy, so we decided we didn’t want to make the hike, but we could see it well enough from the car park/road!

We then stopped at the Mealt Falls/Kilt Rock just outside Staffin. This 90m (almost 300 feet) tall waterfall flows into the Sound of Raasay. The cliffside in the background behind the falls is called Kilt Rock due to it resembling the pleats in a Scot’s kilt.

The view opposite the falls/Kilt Rock. Still a nice view!

The next stop was to check out An Corran beach and see if we could find some dinosaur footprints!

Next, we navigated some winding single-lane roads, and had to stop for the jaw-dropping views of the Quiraing!

We’re on a roll today! Next up: The Fairy Glen. This place was definitely a little bit magical!

We’ve enjoyed our time here in this part of Scotland very much! Looking forward to seeing more of the country as we move along on our road trip!

As always… more later!
